The Halloween mixes I've shared so far have leaned more toward the electronic, but we can't forget the awesome link between horror and hip-hop. I mean, you have an entire genre of Horrorcore music, entailing acts such as Gravediggaz, as well as occasional horror audio or video vibes, such as Kanye's Monster, Dr. Dre and Ice Cube's Natural Born Killaz and Puppet Master by the Soul Assassins. Hell, I'm even down for such gimmicky entries as The Crypt Keeper Jam and the Fat Boys' Are You Ready For Freddy?
And then there's the wide world of rap tracks that sample horror themes. Three years ago, FACT Magazine's John Twells put together an amazing mix of hip-hop gems that sample from horror films -- complete with a playlist that highlights both tracks and horror sources.
