A jungle adventure movie, but with satellites and lasers...
This week on Weirdhouse Cinema, I'm joined by guest co-host Anney Reese (Stuff Mom Never Told You, Savor) for discussion of 1995's Congo, based on Michael Crichton's 1980 novel and featuring terrific performances by Laura Linney, Ernie Hudson and Tim Curry – as well as LOTS of Stan Winston gorilla costumes.
The film has a great cast, and we had to cut some of our discussion due to time constraints, but rest assured that the appearance of Underworld's Kevin Grevioux did not escape my attention. We'll just have to talk about him in a future episode of the show.
Next week on Weirdhouse Cinema, Seth will join me again as co-host as we discuss The Flight of Dragons from 1982. In the meantime, be sure to check out the merch store and follow us on Letterboxd! All the movies we've covered are listed there in our list and you can click "read notes" to get links to the individual episodes posted here.
