One heck of a weird 1932 film from the director of Casablanca...
Oh, we have a great one for you this week -- and it's also the earliest film that we've thus far considered on Weirdhouse Cinema. It's Doctor X, directed by Michael Curtiz and starring Lionel Atwill and screen legend Fay Wray!
Welcome to the medical academy where EVERYONE is a suspect in the cannibalistic “Moon Killer” slayings. It starts out pretty normal and ends pretty traditionally, but it includes a HIGHLY weird stretch there in the middle.

Again, this reminds me of the contemporary performance art of French artist Olivier de Sagazan, who builds up layers of paint and clay on his own face in front of a camera. Look up his videos online -- he’s also featured in the 2011 film Samsara. Here's an example:
And I mention the music of Nurse With Wound, the industrial music project of Steven Stapleton. He's put out a lot of work over the years, some releases more cacophonous than others, but my go-to example is Rock N Roll Station off the 1994 album of the same name:
