Hammer takes Dracula into a new century of horror...
Last week's selection was a Frankenstein film and it only felt proper to follow that up with a Dracula film. But which one to pick? I wanted something weirder and less shackled to the source material, so I turned to the late-franchise innovation of Hammer's Dracula A.D. 1972, starring Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Stephanie Beacham and Christopher Neame (above) as the evil Johnny Alucard.
It may not be the best Dracula film, but it's plenty fun. In the episode, I mention the score by Mike Vickers. Here's his black mass track, Devil's Circle Music:
