Weirdhouse Cinema: Halloween 3

It's time to enter into the Season of the Witch...

If the many-worlds interpretation holds true, then there’s an alternate timeline in which the tyranny of Michael Myers ended in 1981 and 1982’s Halloween III: Season of the Witch ushered in a new age. In this alternative world, John Carpenter’s Halloween franchise became a long-running horror anthology series. Each subsequent October, anything was possible in a Halloween film, including pagan conspiracies and killer androids.

In this episode of Weirdhouse Cinema, we ride the chariot of pumpkins and attempt to cross over into this alternate reality. Let's go ahead and have the trailer and the episode:

Halloween III: Season of the Witch is a near perfect Weirdhouse Cinema selection. It has everything, from a mash-up of genres to an insane plot, fun performances and -- of course -- and incredible score. Even if this film isn't for you, I highly recommend diving into John Carpenter and Alan Howarth's score. It's one of my favorites from these two.

It's an exciting time of year for STBYM, with loads of Halloween-centric content -- and of course we're making sure to highlight some fun, weird Halloween movies as well on Weirdhouse Cinema. Next week, we'll discuss Mario Bava's 1963 classic Black Sabbath.
