Undead Templars rise in this 1973 Spanish horror thriller...
In this week's episode of Weirdhouse Cinema, we discuss Amando de Ossorio's Return of the Blind Dead, in which a small town is torn about by political corruption and a nocturnal onslaught of 500-year-old undead knights.
The supernatural threat in this film is pretty solid, but the human villains certainly help keep things on track as our heroes have to contend with a morally corrupt mayor, his vile henchman and the crazed Murdo -- a fine cinematic creep in the classic tradition.

I wish I could share more of the score for this film, because Antón García Abril really delivers some stellar, creepy sounds. However, I don't think it has ever been released in any format.
I rented the film on Apple Movies, though there's no Spanish language option. You can find the original Spanish version on YouTube though and there have been multiple DVD releases over the years.
