Today marks our first entry from Brazilian cinema and it’s also going to be another one of these situations where we skip the first film in a series and go straight to the sequel. Yes, sometimes a sequel is a soulless cash grab, but other times it gives filmmakers the chance to run with the concepts from the first film in a different and grander direction.
This Night I'll Possess Your Corpse is the sequel to 1963’s At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul, the first Brazilian-produced horror film and the movie that introduced THE WORLD to to the murderous, preachy weirdo Zé do Caixão (known in English-speaking countries as Coffin Joe).
As mentioned in the episode, the Coffin Joe films are finally set to release on Blu-ray this fall in a superb-looking set from Arrow Video.
