In our second episode of Weirdhouse, we consider a b-movie classic...
The weird movie side project continues this week with a look at a real stand-out b-movie: Claudio Fragasso's 1990 anti-vegetarian tour de force Troll 2.
You're probably familiar with this one, but if not, you can rent it via most digital platforms or pick it up on Blu-ray. We discuss some of the obvious highlights in this film, such as its ridiculous dialogue and memorable goblins, but we also get into such topics as animals urinating on food caches, dietary energy transference, anti-veganism and anti-verisimilitude.
We're putting these episodes out every Friday in the Stuff to Blow Your Mind feed, which you can find wherever you get your podcasts.
This is only our second episode of Weirdhouse Cinema, but we hope to cover a wide variety of weird films -- from b-movies to art films. Our next two episodes will include a 1930s horror film as well as a Japanese sci-fi classic.
And do reach out to us if you figure out where Nilbog Milk comes from.
