Weirdhouse Cinema: Without Warning

A new podcast project focused on weird movies of all stripes...

Welcome to Weirdhouse Cinema, a podcast sideproject that dives into the world of weird films -- b-movies, art films, intentional pictures and even the occasional failed blockbuster. We've been talking about doing this for a while as a stand-alone podcast series, but starting today we're trying it out as a Friday feature in the STBYM podcast feed.

Up first is the 1980 Greydon Clark film "Without Warning," an effective and well-crafted sci-fi Thriller that pits teens and a superbly crazed Jack Palance against a big-headed extraterrestrial hunter with a bag of killer flesh frisbees. We discuss what works, what maybe doesn't and what we can learn from humanity's long-standing obsession with super-powered hunters from beyond.

You can find Weirdhouse Cinema in the Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast feed, wherever you get your podcasts. As for the movie itself, outside of unauthorized streams, Shoutfactory put out an excellent Blu-ray edition a few years back.

I'm going to blog these episodes here at Semuta Music as a sort of unofficial homepage for the episodes. We're hoping to bust out some signature thumbnail art for the series soon -- and the music is original music by Joe. I hope you enjoy.
